The Story of the Snow Village

We get alot of question about our Snow Village (pictures below) which we proudly display every Christmas.

The story is, it was bequeathed to us by Arlington Heights resident Helen O’Kane. Helen is very fond of Peggy Kinnane’s and bar owner Derek Hanley, Helen even jokes that Derek is her adopted son. She wanted her Snow Village – that she lovingly collected over a 50 year period – to be in a place where many people could enjoy it year after year and she wanted to give it to someone who would give it a good home.

So Helen told us about the Snow Village and her intentions and we were honored to to receive such a special gift. So for the past four years we’ve safely stored it and re-assembled it in the large window facing Vail Avenue every Christmas.

We hope you get a chance to stop by and experience it, many families have and now make it a tradition of sharing a family meal under the Snow Village every year at Peggy Kinnane’s Irish Restaurant & Pub.

Peggy Kinnane’s 8th Annual Golf Outing

Where to turn? What to do? Nothing can possibly prepare you for the moment a loved one is facing a terminal illness or life-limiting condition. End-of-life decisions and care have to be made while you seek to provide comfort and compassion for your family member.

The decision to accept hospice care can be a difficult one, but often provides the physical, emotional and spiritual support your loved one needs.Peggy Kinnane's 8th annual golf outing

We’re very fortunate to have Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois (HPNI) right in our backyard. They help patients realize their quality-of-life and end-of-life goals one day at a time through pain and symptom management, compassionate care, specialized therapies and a range of social services.

HPNI is a community-based, non-profit agency that serves patients in McHenry, Lake, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Boone and Will counties—regardless of their ability to pay.

For the past 8 years we’ve held a special charity golf outing with proceeds going to HPNI and Hospice in Templemore, Ireland.

Your participation iPeggy Kinnane's 8th annual golf outingn our golf outing does great good, all the money raised through the golf tournament helps to pay uncompensated services such as integrative treatment, which consists of massage, art and music therapies, grief support and services for people who’s insurance have run out.

In the past 8 years we’ve raised over $128,000 dollars and we thank you for that! Last year we raised $27,500 and we’d like to match and break that this year.peggy kinnane's 8th annual golf outing
